FDA-approved medication prescribed alongside counseling for opioid or alcohol use disorder. Buprenorphine (Suboxone, Sublocade) and naltrexone (Vivitrol) are prescribed and managed on site. For opioid use disorder the medication is the part with the strongest evidence, and here it runs inside a plan that also includes individual and group therapy.

A licensed clinician goes through substance use, mental health, medical situation and what your week looks like. About 20 to 30 minutes, confidential, no obligation.
Detox first, if you need it
We do not provide detox or residential treatment. If alcohol or benzodiazepine dependence makes stopping dangerous, we help arrange medically supervised withdrawal and take you in when you come out.
Start at the level that fits
Partial care when you need daily contact, IOP when mornings are enough, outpatient when use is milder. Your own therapist every week, groups led by licensed clinicians, medication where it helps.
Step down, with a plan for the gaps
Five days to three, IOP to outpatient, with relapse prevention written for your specific triggers and high-risk hours. The weeks after a structured program ends carry real risk, so we plan for them most.

FAQ
Common questions about our programs
Which level, how long, and what we do not provide.
That is what the assessment decides, and it is a clinical call rather than a guess. The short version: partial care if you need daily clinical contact or are stepping down from detox or residential, IOP if a structured morning most weekdays is enough, outpatient if use is milder or you have finished a higher level. If you are physically dependent on alcohol or benzodiazepines, medically supervised withdrawal comes first.
Yes, if the assessment supports it. IOP is the right starting point when you are medically stable, have a safe place to sleep and need structure without a full clinical day; many people start there, and it is the most common entry point for alcohol. You would start in partial care instead if you are coming out of detox or residential treatment, if a lower level did not hold, or if use is daily and the week has organized itself around it. Alcohol or benzodiazepine dependence means medically supervised withdrawal before either.
There is no fixed number of weeks at any level. Length of stay is set by your treatment plan, reviewed as you go, and usually reviewed by your insurer; for plans New Jersey regulates, the first 28 days of partial care or IOP are not subject to a retrospective medical-necessity review. The total matters more than any one level: the National Institute on Drug Abuse finds treatment shorter than 90 days is generally of limited effectiveness, so we plan the whole episode, partial care, then IOP, then outpatient for months.
It depends on the level. Partial care runs Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., which is most of a working day, so it usually means time away from a daytime job. IOP runs 9:30 a.m. to noon on weekday mornings, so afternoon and evening work fits around it. Outpatient is one or two sessions a week during business hours. There is no evening track at any level. Job-protected leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act may apply to treatment; ask your employer, or ask our case management team.
No. South Jersey Recovery Program is outpatient only: partial care, IOP and outpatient, with medication-assisted treatment on site in Berlin, NJ. We have no beds, no overnight staff and no medically supervised withdrawal. If your assessment shows you need detox or residential care first, we say so, help arrange the placement, and take over your care when you step down.
Usually, as an out-of-network behavioral health benefit. We are out of network with all plans; most commercial plans, including Aetna, Cigna, Horizon BCBS and UnitedHealthcare, still include out-of-network benefits that can apply to partial care and IOP, subject to your deductible, coinsurance and any authorization. We verify your benefits with your written permission and tell you the actual numbers before you start. NJ FamilyCare (Medicaid) and Medicare are not accepted.
